pink and green

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

the other day, a dear friend reached out to me to help her get inspiration for a preppy pink, green and white baby shower she is planning. starting with this perfect trellis-patterned preppy invites, it set the tone for all the pink and green decor for the shower.

i'm thinking topiaries, pink or green table linens, lots of pink tulips or hydrangeas, polkadot pink and green balloons just to start decor ideas rolling. it'll be cute especially for a springtime baby shower!

a vintage-inspired baby shower part 2

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

i hope everyone had a wonderful independence day celebration with their family and friends. the weekend is over and we're back in the swing of things (still with hang-over but it's all OK) and today i'm sharing more pictures from our vintage-inspired baby shower a weekend ago.

it was my first time to shoot an event so let me indulge a bit, LOL. seriously, i am just thrilled to be a part of this special occasion and i'm glad to be able to help. it was a small gathering of family and friends of the honoree and the intimate setting was just perfect to enjoy great food and company!

a vintage-inspired baby shower

Monday, July 4, 2011

i had the oppurtunity to help out my friend Nina a few weekends ago setting up a baby shower she was hosting for a dear friend. we had weeks to prepare, gathering accessories and bouncing off ideas with one another even at the wee hours of the night via texting. i had a blast planning this shower with her and she had full of lovely ideas that complemented with mine.

if you recall, nina also hosted this baby shower in the past and this fun pool party for her twins' first birthday last year. all parties were amazing and i know this one was going to be too!

i love that most of the accessories for the party were furniture and items from the twins' nursery such as the distressed blue diaper changer, blue and green mini suitcases and baskets with toile liners used for the drink station. the above crystals dangling from the gilded cake stand were crystals from her wedding years ago. repurposing items from your home and previous soirees are just the right thing to do and economical too!

stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow and the complete list of party sources!

bubbles and bowties baby shower

Friday, April 29, 2011

this sweetest baby shower was hosted and styled by super talented florist, event stylist and interior designer therese of Therese Jacinto Designs for her dear friend. the cute bubbles and bowtie theme got a preppy look with the striped and dotted bowties as party favors, customized bubble wrappers and simple yet stunning mums as floral arrangements!

therese created the mini flags and cake toppers and she even baked cupcakes herself!

a cute teddy bear for the honoree's little "coco bear" ~ eagerly anticipating his arrival!

the dreamy images are just lovely and that's why i'm so eager to share.

all photos are by therese as well. more on the shower here

little man baby shower [by cindy of milk tea and polkadots]

Thursday, March 31, 2011

i've always admired graphic designer cindy's work and i've followed her blog for sometime now. she does custom party invites, birth announcements, holiday cards and other party papergoods. i love her simple modern designs such as this baby shower invitation she created for a friend's baby shower that she hosted herself. so darling!

she went with the adorable little man bow-tie theme and her party inspirations
can be seen in this previous post on her blog.

i'm pretty sure she created that cute mini-circular bunting on the yummy cake!

the perfect bowtie cookies are from sarah's pastries in chicago (love that little place!) and the cupcakes were from molly's cupcakes. they were decorated with coordinating bow-tie toppers!

creative cindy adorned her dining room light fixture with a mini-garland made of japanese washi tape and even covered her existing wall art pieces with tissue paper and washi tape in the baby shower theme colors to have a cohesive look for the party area (see picture below). great idea!

blue and brown [a baby shower]

Sunday, October 3, 2010

a few weeks ago i attended a cousin's baby shower hosted by her mom and sister. it was nice for a change to be a fulltime guest and not be part of the creative force behind the party planning which sometimes stress me out a bit.

the afternoon was a fun gathering and fellowship with family and relatives over delicious food. it would be my cousin's second baby boy, so the pregnancy (and the party) was light and easy-going. like her first baby shower, the theme surrounded on the blue and brown palette.

the food fare included ceasar salad, yummy creamy spinach dip (which the honoree herself made - my fave), garlic bread, fettucini alfredo, chicken parmesan, traditional filipino noodle dish (which the honoree's grandma made), steamed rice cake muffins and the mocha-flavored cupcakes!

the adorable cake topper and cupcakes were created by frances of rustika bakery, who was also responsible in making the cakes for the following parties i hosted, this baby shower and our little boy's third birthday party. the cake and cupcakes were mocha with buttercream frosting. so moist and scrumptious!

party favors were chocolate mint truffles from godiva - to die for! as you guessed it, mine were gone before i made it home. and i just live a few blocks away from my cousin's house! LOL

how cute is that cake topper!

diapers are the best gift ever! she received about 10 boxes of wipes and diapers - and im not exaggerating!

my cousin is just glowing!

and here's me, shamelessly gobbling my second plate of pasta!

i have to give credit to the honoree's sister who flawlessly prepared and hosted the party. she thought and led the fun games. she also took these photos. as a fulltime lawyer and an excellent budding photographer on weekends, the honoree's sister and our host, anne-marie did a great job!

we all cant wait to meet our new little nephew due to arrive in a few weeks!
