our weekend

Monday, May 18, 2015

last saturday we celebrated an early 8th birthday party for aston. he and his friends enjoyed a game of basketball after a few ball drills lead by a lifetime fitness party team member. we all had a blast!

we are so blessed to celebrate another birthday for him along with our family, relatives and friends. although he's birthday is not till memorial day, i have a feeling we will be celebrating all week long till he is officially 8 next week. and yes, we can't wait to win game 1 of the western conference finals ~ GO ROCKETS!

i hope you all a great weekend too!
HAPPY MONDAY friends!

fall fashion for kiddos

Thursday, September 25, 2014

i don't know about you but everytime fall comes around, our little guy's fall outfits no longer fit him! i try my best to take advantage of end of season sales to grab bigger size shirts, jackets and pants so he can wear them the next time fall comes around!

i do miss a few things everytime, like caps or gloves but in case you need to do some shopping for the little ones, here are a few things that caught my eye :

i always forget to get him halloween pjs too!

the night before 2nd grade

Monday, August 25, 2014

thought i'd share the sweetest thing we did the night before the first day of second grade. aston's  second grade teacher handed us a booklet the night of the school's teacher and parents meet and greet last week. it was something we'd read with him the night before the first day of school.

here's what the cover page says :

SWEET DREAMS
open and read this together at bedtime on sunday. no peeking!

inside is a packet of sequins confetti

here's what's written inside :

i just thought that was the neatest thing. honestly, it was tough getting him to bed early last night. we've spent late summer nights and he's struggled going back to the old early routine. but as soon as he read that, he got really excited. he did refuse to sprinkle "girly" sequins under his pillow as the book instructed but he did hold on to that booklet till he fell asleep!

happy first day of school to most kiddos and happy monday to all!

a busy summer for kids

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

it's quite challenging to get your kids busy all throughout summer. camp is obviously not all summer long and on days that the kids are home, they itch to do something fun everyday.

before summer kicked off, we bought a badminton set and managed to set up a table tennis inside the house (yes, inside  the house). it does get really hot outside, so we try to do indoor activities as much as we can. we do play outside later in the day when the sun is down doing tennis or badminton.

yesterday, aston  enjoyed painting a pottery set i got on sale from michaels. since he is done with summer camp, he's been home waking up late and just playing all day either with his superheroes or lego sets. his tutor still comes to the house twice a week but most days he's on a free schedule trying to make the most of summer lazy days.

here are a few games and activities your kids may want to try this summer :

i'm sure the little ones will be busy for hours and hours!

keep calm and let it go!
our weekend was hectic in a good way and we had a great time celebrating the dads, my father and hubby all weekend. last night, i seriously didn't have any energy to put together a blogpost for today until this morning after my morning coffee! that's just all i need to survive monday.

also, last night concluded a fantastic frozen-themed birthday party i helped out a friend decorate and i can't wait to share photos with you. it was pure fun in the ice skating rink and the kids had a blast! more on that soon!

our weekend

Tuesday, May 27, 2014

our long weekend was filled with so much fun and laughter as we hosted a bowling party to celebrate our son, aston's  7th birthday last saturday!

i'm sharing a few shots by my niece ailynne  and my friend nina  took during the party. on sunday his real birthday, we had brunch with my sister who was in town and aston  thoroughly enjoyed a chocolate hershey cheesecake, his favorite, after his meal. that night we had barbecue at home and we treated him his third birthday cake of the weekend, a chocolate chiffon cake my sister brought from chicago.

there is no stopping this guy - these kids grow so fast. how do you even slow it down? his first grade year will come to an end soon and this fall, he'll be in second grade. how is that even possible?

we are so proud of him. he's grown in leaps and bounds and we couldn't be any happier of his pace and path he is walking through along with us and his teachers that have guided him. so so thankful for this boy, the love and joy of our lives.

how was your long weekend?

bowling party prep

Thursday, May 15, 2014

i can't believe our once upon a time baby boy will be turning 7 years old the end of this month. i. can't. get. over. it. he's a baby no more. so we are gearing once again for a fun-filled birthday party.

after celebrating with a golf-themed party last year, this time he's decided to have a bowling party with his friends. he's all into sports and bowling is something he's started to learn and enjoy!

here's his invitation created by the talented kelly  of WHHOSTESS (she also custom-made last year's booklet golf invites). i am loving the boyish argyle pattern in orange and light blue hues. for the past two weeks, i've got myself busy again party prepping which i really love to do.

nelly  covered the table with black tablecloths and attached duct tapes to make it look like the turtles come out of the sewers! so clever!

the party was not short of sweets for sure! yum!

easter basket gift ideas

Friday, April 11, 2014

hey it's friday again! i am so looking forward for the weekend!

{via}
we will be celebrating easter next week and if you're still gathering treats for the kid's easter baskets, here are a few fun ideas the little ones will enjoy!

early february here and there

Monday, February 3, 2014

geez, it's monday again! and it is february!

are you ready for a new week? i hope you all recovered from last night's super bowl game. can't lie, i cued in just for the half time concert and awesome commercials. it did not disappoint!

i've got lots to share from last week. i quietly turned older last month. i refused to celebrate but was treated to a fun lunch with girlfriends last thursday. thanks so much to friends who greeted on my birthday and for all the generous gifts. can't thank you all enough!

we also celebrated chinese new year last friday. all week, my husband got our home ready for 2014, the year of the wooden horse. i don't know the rhyme and reason of feng shui but trust me, it never hurts to follow directions and remedies.

over the weekend, instagram exploded with a new app #waterlogue that got us all obssessed. it turns plain images to watercolor art sketches that really looks like real paintings. your plain images turn into these beautiful paintings and i can't get enough of it!

and also, i'm inviting you all to join KELLY LYDEN, of THE PARTY DRESS and WH HOSTESS and author of the latest STYLISH KIDS' PARTIES book and some of the most talented party stylists and bloggers whom i'll be joining in a PINTEREST and BOOK LAUNCH PARTY this coming Thursday, Feb 6th 8-9 PM CST.

we will be pinning and sharing creative kids party ideas to this PINTEREST BOARD so make sure to follow this board. i will see you there thursday for sure!
