but in all seriousness, thanks mamang (mother)  for everything. i am forever grateful for your dedication and perseverance that i wish i have even half of what you can provide. so thankful for your unwavering love and support. i hope and pray that i can nurture and guide our own aston  as well as you did with us growing up.

TGIF! 

mother's day is this sunday and i'm sure families got some big plans for all the moms. as a mom myself, i am excited to see what the boys got planned. i could use some breakfast in bed, a mani/pedi me-time and simply precious uninterrupted time with the family. whether that's all going to really happen, remains to be seen. truthfully, i am just glad and contented that everyone's healthy and happy and what more can i ask for?

i have a fun app to share with you today. my friend nina told us about this makeup app for your iphone that you can use to instantly photoshop faces. it's called perfect365 (its a free app). 

using the app, you can perfect your skin by smoothening, brightening or removing blemish from it. you can even alter image by slimming the face, lifting the cheeks or enhancing the nose (it's like plastic surgery on your phone ~ hahaha!). 

you can also play with different makeup looks, add lashes, enlarge eyes  or change eye color. it is super fun and really, i think it's genius. hurry and get the app and play along with me!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the sweet moms! 

life gets so much better when your mom tells you everything will be all right during tough times. she's there ALWAYS for her unconditional love and care. her unwavering support makes you believe in yourself countless times when you doubt your own capabilities. she simply know you and how far you can go. and they trust and believe that you can do it. today, i strive to be that for my own son. 

i'm sharing some really old photos of my mother with me and my eldest brother alvi. this first photo was taken at a beach back home in the philippines. i'm guessing my brother was about 3 or 4 years old here. unforgettable tender moments from the past. 

my mom teaches english college classes in a university and i usually walk with her to school and that's perfect photo op time before kindergarten class. this was in our front yard with papaya trees and hibiscus bushes you can't miss. ha!

mother's day weekend recap

when I booked my husband's seminar a few months ago, i didnt realize it fell on mother's day weekend. we didn't have big plans but certainly we want to spend the day with loved ones especially with my mother and our little family. so, the trip was quick ~ we left friday and back home sunday afternoon just in time to spend mother's day celebration with my folks, having an early dinner out by a lake. it was pleasant and nice. 

the whole weekend was delightful. hanging out with my sister who lives in chicago ~ sharing Gino's East pizza and stopping by a local lego store with the little guy. the weather was cooler last saturday and it rained a bit. but by the time we were getting ready to head to the airport to go home, the sunny weather was out for a perfect mother's day!
