july 4th is a few days away and this party theme is perfect for a party by the pool or beach!

i've "met" cristina (via blossom) through our mutual online blog friend albertina (mimosa lane blog) who i've mentioned quite a bit here in the blog before. cristina and i both share the love for party planning and designing and her latest nautical brunch with the kiddos is so adorable, i just had to share!

here's what she has to say :

"after living in the coast of maine for 8 years, i felt inspired to style a brunch reminiscent of our family summer days spent sailing, strolling and biking around lobster fishing towns like bar harbor and camden"

"the focal point of the table was a gorgeous sail boat placed on a vanilla-raspberry cake, i framed it with hanging a yellow flag banner that added a pop of color to the red, blue and white tablescape."

"i use props like a fisherman figurine, a wooden anchor, life guards and lobster buoys that i have been collecting from antique shops or small gift shops to create a true nautical atmosphere. i tied nautical knots on the hobnail cakestands where vanilla cupcakes were displayed. nautical bowls filled with tricolor popcorn displayed red, blue and yellow candle torches. i love how the hot air balloon paper lantern gave the table a nostalgic feel."

"the food served consisted of savory and sweet bite size treats. i use petite cups to showcase chocolate chip mini cheesecakes, lemon petit fours, mini cream cheese tomato-chive sandwiches and quiche lorraine. the fruit salads were served in square mini glasses."

truly magical and nautical!
thanks cristina for sharing these special brunch with us!
lastly, don't forget to follow SCF via BLOGLOVIN!
