the aston golf classic

Friday, June 21, 2013

the other day, i was so honored to be featured over at the party dress blog by kelly  of whhostess, who happen to create the boxed invitations and papergoods for aston's  recent golf party. i've always wanted to incorporate the madras pattern in a party theme and with the help of kelly, the party papergoods design was perfectly executed.

the pictures taken by my talented niece ailynne  turned out amazing. there will be  picture overload in this post, so i hope you will scroll all the way down to see all the details. i will also share party sources at the end of the post.

as you can see, the madras pattern was all over the party scene - including my very own old jack rogers sandals, which perfectly blended in with the theme!

i set up kiddie tables outside and decorated with blue and green balloons. with a tip from kelly, i found the perfect madras fabric from joanns  store that my mom easily transformed to tablerunners and she even sew a few pillowcases with the extra fabric!

apart from playing on the putting green, the kiddos also get to decorate their own visors that they can wear during the party and take home afterwards.

when the kiddie guests arrived, they were given golf lanyard souvenirs to wear throughout the party. the logo was created by kelly and i had them laminated at my local officemax store.

the delicious and moist cake was ordered from cakes by gina. flavors were lemon with lemon curd fillling and chocolate with raspberry filling. so yummy!

we served james coney island hotdogs for lunch and desserts were pinkberry yogurt, cookies, cupcakes, donut holes, fresh fruits and so much more treats such as lollipops and gumballs.

upon heading out, the guests were handed custom stadium cups filled with cookies, their decorated visors, toy mini golf carts and their party lanyards!

we celebrated aston's  6th birthday last weekend with our closest friends and family. it was so much fun getting everyone together and seeing aston enjoy his special day.

while waiting for the official party photos from my talented niece photographer, ailynne (first photo down below is by her) - i thought i'd share a few pictures taken by one of my best friends, rae

one of the best parts post party is of course opening gifts with his buddy stephen, rae's nephew!

these girlfriends i've known almost all my life. rae (left) i've known since preK and fatima (right) in college! so glad they came - endless chats over leftover cake and pinkberry yogurt was so much worth it!

more gifts - oh my - opening them with stephen and george, fatima's son!

still can't get over the fact that our little boy is now 6! where is our baby boy?

the 6th aston golf classic invites

Monday, May 13, 2013

in a few weeks we will be celebrating aston's 6th birthday party. today i am thrilled to present the 6th Aston Golf Classic invitations designed by kelly  of WHHostess. it is an adorable 5-page booklet invite placed inside a white box filled with green crinkle paper in the bottom and a golf ball.

i have always wanted to incorporate the madras pattern to a party theme and thought this was the perfect oppurtunity to do so in a golf preppy par-tee!

so we've been start planning for aston's 6th birthday party. i didn't waste any time setting up a new pinterest board to house all party ideas and inspiration. last year, we had his 5th superhero-themed party held at a bounce house party place and this time we thought it'll be great to have it at our home.

we recently completed our backyard project and as we have compromised, i got my little courtyard and the boys got their playground. we agreed this would be the perfect venue for his upcoming birthday with the most appropriate theme!

keep calm and golf on

none of the design details and colors are finalized yet but it'll be a fun laid-back party with lots of boyish preppy details. here's a little mood board for you, a fun sneak peek!
