the aston golf classic

Friday, June 21, 2013

the other day, i was so honored to be featured over at the party dress blog by kelly  of whhostess, who happen to create the boxed invitations and papergoods for aston's  recent golf party. i've always wanted to incorporate the madras pattern in a party theme and with the help of kelly, the party papergoods design was perfectly executed.

the pictures taken by my talented niece ailynne  turned out amazing. there will be  picture overload in this post, so i hope you will scroll all the way down to see all the details. i will also share party sources at the end of the post.

as you can see, the madras pattern was all over the party scene - including my very own old jack rogers sandals, which perfectly blended in with the theme!

i set up kiddie tables outside and decorated with blue and green balloons. with a tip from kelly, i found the perfect madras fabric from joanns  store that my mom easily transformed to tablerunners and she even sew a few pillowcases with the extra fabric!

apart from playing on the putting green, the kiddos also get to decorate their own visors that they can wear during the party and take home afterwards.

when the kiddie guests arrived, they were given golf lanyard souvenirs to wear throughout the party. the logo was created by kelly and i had them laminated at my local officemax store.

the delicious and moist cake was ordered from cakes by gina. flavors were lemon with lemon curd fillling and chocolate with raspberry filling. so yummy!

we served james coney island hotdogs for lunch and desserts were pinkberry yogurt, cookies, cupcakes, donut holes, fresh fruits and so much more treats such as lollipops and gumballs.

upon heading out, the guests were handed custom stadium cups filled with cookies, their decorated visors, toy mini golf carts and their party lanyards!

so blessed to be celebrating another year for our son aston. where did the time go? i can still vividly recall being all giddy and excited planning for his first birthday. and yet now, here i am already looking forward to his 7th!

we are so thankful for family, relatives and friends who will always care and love our aston. it is so special that you are all in his life!

HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY sweet guy!

Oh my gosh, Lili! This is unbelievable! You really thought of everything with this party. I must say, I adore the mini visors for the guests! I've pinned this on my "Sports Birthday Party" board because I'm sure that my little guy will want a lot of sports-themed parties in the future.
