the 4TH ASTON CUP soccer party

Monday, May 30, 2011

i am excited to share the rest of the photos from the recent soccer birthday party for our 4 year old. it was a pretty sunday afternoon despite rising temperatures but the kiddos had a blast playing soccer out in the field. there was a nice breeze out by the lake, so it was bearable for them to run around and do drills and games provided by the guys of soccer tot parties

the decor was simple. white tablecloth covered round tables with a striped paper liner in red, grey and blue topped with a bucket filled with soccerballs and flags. the dessert table had the birthday bunting and a bunch of red and blue dotted balloons for an added impact. also on the table, i placed a framed photo of the birthday boy which inspired the whole party's color palette and theme. i also hung silhouette banners by the glass doors as party signage!

for a late lunch, hot dogs and fajitas were served. for desserts, the guests were treated with cakepops, cookies, white fudge pretzels, food for the gods dessert bars and cake. we also rented out an ice cream cart full of ice cream cups, drumsticks, pushpops and more - it was a hit with the kids and parents alike!

i've got so many friends and family to thank for coming out and spending that special day with us. lastly, setting and cleaning up was a chore but it was well worth all the effort. the birthday boy and kid guests had so much fun and i'd like to believe the parents did too!

check out all the party details and vendors at the bottom of this post!

recipe : food for the gods

Saturday, May 28, 2011

i had a cousin who stayed with us for the past few weeks and she spoiled us with her non-stop baking and gourmet home cooking and i'm blaming her for the added pounds i've gained. for aston's recent birthday party, she baked a popular filipino dessert called food for the gods. it's really a brownie-lookalike bar filled with walnuts and dates. although she made me swear not to share her secret recipe, i found tons of recipes online that are worth a try. this one is from gourmeted, the recipe and baking tips for this delicious dessert can be found here.

i think this dessert would be a fantastic addition to your upcoming memorial day BBQ party!

aston turns 4 today. from a tiny little baby to a rockstar lanky 4 year old,
he truly amazes us with all his antics!

we concluded a soccer party dubbed, the 4th Aston Cup, last sunday. he and his cousins and friends had a blast doing soccer drills. there was a nice breeze despite the heat in the afternoon but the kids didnt mind and completed their soccer game. more party pictures will come later - thanks to my niece Ailynne, who's an incredible photographer - all memorable moments were captured!

in the meantime, here are aston's past birthday parties i'd like to share and love to look back from time to time. these images remind us of how fast they grow!

Thursday, May 19, 2011

i am excited to finally share this ninjago party for a very special boy Coopermost party elements were designed and created by his photographer and designer mom, Jenny - and she did an amazing job!

if you recall, i put together an inspiration board for her to kind of guide her with her last minute party planning and the end product was incredible! and most importantly, cooper had loads of fun and it was extra special for him!

here are the beautiful photos jenny shared and please visit her own blog post for all the party details and generous vendors!

mom jenny designed his ninja birthday shirt using iron-on transfer paper!

the awesome birthday banner was made by jenny using felt paper from walmart!

all party papergoods were also created by jenny and she also even made rice crispie sushi and kid-friendly jello shots to serve!

awwww, the very happy birthday boy with his friends!

lego cookies in the party colors by Beth of sunshinebakes etsy . she makes the yummiest cookies in my favorite lemon or vanilla flavors! thanks Beth

spotted : latest party and home decor trend

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

the use of tissue pompoms and paperglobes in clusters create a magnificent impact to your party decor (or to your home). suspended from the ceiling, it adds depth and texture to the rooms and makes for a lovely arrangement worthy of a grand soiree!

check out a few images i've gathered here to show how each differ in colors and sizes to create a more gorgeous design focal point!
