holiday card display

Thursday, November 17, 2011

we all collect beautiful family holiday cards throughout the years and i keep them all!

year after year, i love to browse and go over pictures of family and friends especially whom we have not seen over a period of time. last year, i decided to display them hanging on twine by our buffet in the dining room and i think i'd do that again this year. it's just a wonderful way of displaying them instead of leaving them inside their envelopes. and as i receive them in the mail, i keep adding them!

What a great idea! A few months ago I bought an elegantly framed bulletin board at Homegoods and hung it in the kitchen with the hopes of using it to display our Christmas cards... but I really love your idea!

I have been trying to find some old long shutters to display mine but no such luck yet. If you see any, they can be really shabby or old or about to fall apart, I can fix. Just cant find any!
So I might just have to go with your idea! CUTE!

What a cute display! We’ve displayed cards in different ways over the years. One year I made a big bow with giant tails, hung it next to our front door and added the cards to the ribbon tails as they came in. Usually, though, they end up on top of our TV cabinet in the main living area (we don’t have a fireplace/mantel). Though your method does give me an idea....

So cute!! We use twine and clip the cards on them too and put them throughout our house over our windows.
