early february here and there

Monday, February 3, 2014

geez, it's monday again! and it is february!

are you ready for a new week? i hope you all recovered from last night's super bowl game. can't lie, i cued in just for the half time concert and awesome commercials. it did not disappoint!

i've got lots to share from last week. i quietly turned older last month. i refused to celebrate but was treated to a fun lunch with girlfriends last thursday. thanks so much to friends who greeted on my birthday and for all the generous gifts. can't thank you all enough!

we also celebrated chinese new year last friday. all week, my husband got our home ready for 2014, the year of the wooden horse. i don't know the rhyme and reason of feng shui but trust me, it never hurts to follow directions and remedies.

over the weekend, instagram exploded with a new app #waterlogue that got us all obssessed. it turns plain images to watercolor art sketches that really looks like real paintings. your plain images turn into these beautiful paintings and i can't get enough of it!

and also, i'm inviting you all to join KELLY LYDEN, of THE PARTY DRESS and WH HOSTESS and author of the latest STYLISH KIDS' PARTIES book and some of the most talented party stylists and bloggers whom i'll be joining in a PINTEREST and BOOK LAUNCH PARTY this coming Thursday, Feb 6th 8-9 PM CST.

we will be pinning and sharing creative kids party ideas to this PINTEREST BOARD so make sure to follow this board. i will see you there thursday for sure!

pumpkin patch from the past

Thursday, October 25, 2012

see, our son is now 5. he thinks he's too hip for the pumpkin patch now. i would still want him to have pictures at the pumpkin patch but he's putting on the breaks and would just love to watch the little babies frolic at the patch.

so, i'm staring at this precious moment back in time in 2010 where he smiled and posed. it actually made it to our holiday card that we decided to do thanksgiving card that year instead of christmas. uhm, can we bring my baby back?

happy thanksgiving to you and your family!

a whhostess weekend

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

this past weekend we concluded 2 successful WHHostess holiday trunk shows here in town which i hosted. it was a lot of fun and hardwork at the same time. i was glad to introduce kelly's products to family, relatives and friends who were not familiar with WHHostess or The Party Dress blog.

thank you to everyone who came by and supported the show. your presence meant a lot. big shoutout to my dear friends katherine and nina, whose help and efforts were invaluable. to nina, who opened her beautiful home for day one of the trunk show during the week (btw, watch out for her online gift shop that will open soon!). thank you both so much!
WHHostess trunk show
HUGE thanks to kelly for making me a part of WHHostess this season and kicking off the trunk show this time of the year. also, i am thrilled to share one of her new products that i was lucky to sample along with the huge amount of product cuteness from the trunk show.

WHHostess cake plate cling

the cake plate cling, as seen above {c/o WHHostess in green damask trellis is part of the holiday collection} is simply genius. this new product allows you to adorn your plain cakeplate, cakestands or other serving platters you may have. comes in various sizes and shapes ~ the reusable, washable, non-adhesive material allows for fuss-free prepping and cleanup. gone are the days of paper liners and doilies and say hello to these beautiful cake plate clings in gorgeous modern designs (available in monograms, initials or names too!).

they are easy to apply and remove. it clings and grips to your cakestand without slipping and allows for a dramatic display of your desserts or food!

it has been a crazy week over here. i just concluded day 1 of WHHostess holiday trunk show and now i'm getting ready for day 2. it's been a fun mix of excitement and exhaustion on my part as i've never done this before. i am glad for the support of family and friends who understands my craziness this week.

so much is going on this weekend starting with a friend's milestone birthday celebration tonight. sunday, i am off to meet friends for brunch and go back to enjoy this. and yes, in between is my final trunk show with WHHostess
