a glam birthday luncheon

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

when one of my dear friends, nina  decided to host a luncheon for her birthday i knew it was going to be fabulous. she's all girly and glam and it was no surprise that it hugely influenced her party decor concept. she had envisioned lots of flowers in pinks and oranges with a punch of lime green.

since nina's hands were full with her new business and caring for her twin boys, i helped her coordinate and plan party strategies with her. we bounced off ideas ~ we shared pinterest inspirations and texted back and forth nightly on different party details. we had a blast planning, cake tasting ~ the whole process was just pure fun!

it was a perfect gorgeous saturday. she served pate with crackers and fruits to start when guests arrived. nina  just recently opened an online gem shop, PBC CLOSET, so we all shopped and perused her home studio/boutique. it was the perfect time to catch up with old friends, shop and sip endless mimosas!

the huge white vase with lanterns was nina's idea and inspired by this image. it gave such a gorgeous impact to the tablescape and overall party decor. grocery-bought flowers beautifully arranged and bunched together lent a luxurious expensive look even if they were not. we kept the flowers in the same color scheme and scattered in the middle of the table in varied vase heights, just to give it a more casual less uniform look. the lovely ruffled rosette tablecloth and ghost clear chairs was the perfect blend of modern and girly. i just loved those mixed together!

she hired a chef and small staff to cook and serve us during lunch. we were treated to delicious stuffed cremini mushrooms and mixed greens salad to start. followed with grilled shrimp linguine in lemon butter sauce with garlic bread which were absolutely yummy. then a refreshing coconut (the celebrant's favorite!) sorbet with berries and freshly baked ginger snaps were served to end the meal. then the final dessert treat for the guests were the individual two-tiered mini cakes in either vanilla butter cake or chocolate cake!

each guest get to take home a dainty bangle from nina's  shop, PBC Closet as party favors!

as nina  opened gifts, we stayed around and nibbled on macarons from
mon cherie and chocolate chip cookies from tiny boxwoods

it was truly an unforgettable birthday party and we were just as delighted to be a part of it. thanks nina for having us!

a ballerina party

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

i am so thrilled to be helping out my friend katherine prepare for her precious daughter ava's ballerina-themed birthday party this coming july. i don't have a daughter so, i'm so excited to be dreaming of girly frills and sweet pink details!

we envisioned lots of tulle swags and pompoms, a ruffle or rosette ombre cake, rhinestones and pink blooms. we can't forget the little boys, so the knights and magic display will make an appearance especially for them!

today's party feature is so adorable i can't help wishing i had a daughter! ha!

the lovely photos are from a first birthday party for isabella. photography is by the amazingly talented pam rodrigues (site/facebook)who you may remember took photos of this gorgeous bridal shower featured here in the blog before. the party details are so sweet with the divine color palette of pink and yellow. the dessert table is filled with delicious bites and desserts all in sunny yellow and pretty pink. the cake is smashing and who can miss the floral-patterned umbrellas over the venue's chandeliers? so unique and special - i've never seen that before. it sure added an unforgettable impact!

of course, the celebrant is perfectly clad in pink tutus with pink and yellow flower headband - too cute!!

pink barbie party [a 5th birthday party]

Thursday, April 7, 2011

talented blogger and chic mom lisa {of hamptontoes} knows how to throw a fabulous party and for her daughter's 5th birthday, she coordinated a glamorous pink barbie party that's uber fun and stylish. i still can't get over the fact that lisa did most of the party details sourcing and crafting AND baking the cakes too! wow!

with lyndhurst castle as the venue, it was definitely a one-of-a-kind dream party for her daughter. the guests get to tour the castle and even walk on the red carpet!

the girls get to play "pin the sunglasses on barbie" and also busy themselves with barbie crafts, books and stickers. there were different activity areas which is great for a bigger number of guests so they don't get overwhelmed over one project and neglect the rest!

the beautiful set-up with pink boas, barbie silhouette, barbie tablecloths, elegant bamboo chairs and coordinating barbie silhouette papergoods!

lisa kept her party tradition of individual cakes for each guest and i am blown away by her baking skills as she made each girl their very own barbie cake complete with dainty ornate pink dresses!

i think my favorite part of the party would have to be the photo session for each girl inside the lifesize barbie box! made out of cardboard and wrapped with pink paper ~ this is such a great idea!

lastly, this is the birthday girl's barbie cake ~ check out the details in her dress! so beautiful!

to get all the complete vendor details and information on this party (and more behind the scenes photos) head on to lisa's blog, hamptontoes

thanks lisa for allowing me to share ~ you did an amazing job!

i've been a follower of the domestic goddess for awhile now and i admire her taste in home decor, her writing skills and i always look forward to her lists of books she's been reading which i try to take note and find time to read them too (to no avail). only recently did i realize that i forgot about her daughter audrey's birthday party last year that i meant to share with everyone. i believe it's not too late to do so, well here are the lovely details of that celebration.

the party was all the way from across the globe (Philippines, where i'm from) ~ read more about her inspirations here. it included gorgeous cameos, lovely poms, party hats and a dessert table in pink and gold!

such an amazing cake by marta's cake in the Philippines

the stunning dessert table in the most gorgeous color palette anchored by hanging poms in varied pink tones. the gorgeous cameo silhouette banner backdrop, cake and cookies were incorprated from the invitation design.

assorted sweet treats to satisfy each kid guests included coconut macaroons, madeleines,
meringue, petit fours and strawberry wafers to name a few.

the delicate cookies and cupcake design were darling!

for the kids' enjoyment, there was shadow puppet playing, storytelling and mural painting. they also created masks that they used to role play during storytelling. there were games too such as pass the parcel.

party giveaways were packaged in adorable matching bags and wrappers. girls got necklaces from gingersnaps and the boys received books as party favors!
