halloween sweet treats

Thursday, September 15, 2011

i think it's time to round up a few tempting halloween treat ideas to serve your little monsters, ghouls, super heroes and princesses this coming halloween. i just came from target and the costumes are out taking over empty missoni for target spaces. i scored an inexpensive super hero costume for aston and i'm good to go!

here are some sweet dessert ideas for you to serve for your halloween playdates and parties. even with just store-bought cookies and cupcakes, you can spruce them with m&ms, pretzels, hershey kisses etc to create a more halloween-themed treats!

you can easily recreate these desserts at home with just a few colorful candies, melted chocolate and crushed up oreos. a little imagination would help too!

yellow and grey birthday

Thursday, August 25, 2011

i am sharing today photos from my niece anne-marie's 33th birthday celebration. i am loving the yellow and grey motif, such an elegant timeless color combination. centerstage is the incredible macaron tower atop a round fondant cake for the dessert table. of course, i can't boast enough of ailynne's (anne-marie's older sister) crazy photography skills who took all this amazing shots!

i'm always on the lookout for other gorgeous options in displaying and serving desserts to create a more unforgettable experience for your guests. i love this idea of serving cupcakes in delicate porcelain teacups especially for weddings, bridal showers, brunch or tea party.

a Chanel-inspired 30th birthday dessert display

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

i have been a big fan of cupcake d'lights for awhile now. ever since i've seen their images in flickr, i've been smitten and i have fallen in love with her elegant dessert displays and magnificent cakes. all the way from south africa, zahirah is one seriously talented cake designer.

the following images are from a 30th birthday party for a Chanel-lover and pediatrician. i LOVE the spectacular chocolate fudge cake she created.

fondant-topped cookies showing the Chanel logo and # 30, instead of the iconic Chanel No.5

cake pops were adorned with Chanel ribbons

and finally, the beautiful dessert display in the neutral color palette of cream and dark brown. to see more incredible cake designs by zahirah, please visit her blog and flickr photostream.

friday faves [sweet bakers]

Saturday, January 22, 2011

i'm lucky to be amidst some of the most talented and awesome bakers, gourmet chefs and caterers that are a phone call and deliver away to complete off your party!

i was in for a treat today when i received a batch of the most talked about cake balls and cake pops from angie's cake. they are super moist and very delicious and comes in a variety of flavors. perfect as party favors, holiday giveaways and a great addition to your party's dessert table, the cake ball colors and decorations can be fully customized. visit angie's cake on facebook to browse over tons of cakeball pictures all decorated and displayed or head to her site to pick out a favorite flavor!

french macarons are my ultimate favorite desserts to eat and serve and i'm just glad to have found susan who can whip up macarons in any flavor or color you can imagine. greeneyed susan macarons are heaven in every bite and i can't get enough of them. they have crispy chewy shell with mouthwatering cream filling that's just very delectable. good news to those that are not in the Houston area, greeneyed susan can now ship to you! also, check out her feature on pam's party starters this week!
