the must-have jacket

Thursday, September 6, 2012

still dying that we are still at almost 100 deg everyday. despite the arrival of the starbucks fall specialty flavors, our weather is not letting up. i am looking forward to dressing up in layers but with temps so high and with the sweltering heat, it ain't happening soon. so for now, all these cool images are just reminders of how chic a lady wears a military-inspired jacket balancing it's structured shape by adding feminine touches. wear with soft hair curls, a ladylike handbag or figure-hugging dresses, they are the perfect lightweight cover-up for fall!

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

it's no secret that i have a sweet tooth and i was not surprised when cookie caster contacted me about their new custom cookie cutter product. cookie caster is a site that let's you design, share and order your own custom cookie cutter creation. their site let's you easily create a 3D model of your custom cookie cutter. you have no idea how excited i am about this product. this is how it works :
  • get into the drawing board and play around with the design you want to create. or you can also upload an image to trace, if you have something specific in mind
  • don't have time to create? you can search through their gallery for any design you may like and you may even tweak it yourself
  • once you're done with the designing part, cookie caster makes them using a 3D printer and mails it directly to you, ready to use!
the cookie cutters are made of BPA-free materials. made with nylon or a biodegradable material from corn, they are very sturdy and strong yet lightweight. they are dishwasher safe and is safe to be heated at up to 176 deg F (but not for baking). with this custom design process, the possibilities are endless!

snapshots from the weekend

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

i hope you all had a wonderful three day weekend with friends and family. we surely did. in a whim, we decided to take a long drive trip to san antonio-hill country for the weekend and i'm glad we did. it was a great way to unwind and quietly celebrate our wedding anniversary.

we stayed at this beautiful resort and spa and they are never out of engaging kids activities, poolside fun, spa luxury treatments, family entertainment and great hotel restaurant dining experience.
Labor day wknd

for the labor day weekend, they even had foodtrucks come park in their sprawling lawn area and had live band entertainment to the delight of everyone. there is just something magical about dining on rustic tables and benches enjoying texas BBQ under the gorgeous sunset and then the sparkling stars!

Labor day wknd
we totally enjoyed the lazy river and pool slides and spent an early morning there to witness the fun
lazy river rubber duck race. at night, it was nice to hang out at the lobby lounge, had a quick bite and a cocktail and enjoy the live music provided by a really talented musician.  Labor day wknd
the weekend was full of laughter, hugs and kisses and a short window shopping to scout holiday weekend sales. overall, it was what we just needed ~ a quiet laidback celebration of our wedding anniversary and the labor day weekend!
