halloween sweet treats

Thursday, September 15, 2011

i think it's time to round up a few tempting halloween treat ideas to serve your little monsters, ghouls, super heroes and princesses this coming halloween. i just came from target and the costumes are out taking over empty missoni for target spaces. i scored an inexpensive super hero costume for aston and i'm good to go!

here are some sweet dessert ideas for you to serve for your halloween playdates and parties. even with just store-bought cookies and cupcakes, you can spruce them with m&ms, pretzels, hershey kisses etc to create a more halloween-themed treats!

you can easily recreate these desserts at home with just a few colorful candies, melted chocolate and crushed up oreos. a little imagination would help too!

Saturday, September 10, 2011

i am totally inspired to decorate my home with the beautiful cool colors of fall. didn't matter that our weather is still in the 90s, i just love to think that fall is really here!

if you follow me in pinterest, you must have noticed i've recently added my fall and yuletide boards to get into the holiday spirit. i love the hustle and bustle of the season and coupled with the drop of temperatures, it's my little piece of heaven on earth with loved ones!

my post today hopes to inspire you to get into the fall decorating mood for your home. so let's get started.....fall decor : room by room!

don't you love driving up to your home with a yard in these colors?

every home should have a gorgeous wreath to welcome you....

a driveway filled with hay and fall leaves? of course!

exciting to run up the door greeted by these mums-filled pumpkins!

a stunning corner of the house dressed up with a framed burlap monogram and a pale pumpkin!

i wouldn't mind racing up and down the staircase with the coolest line-up of white pumpkins!

i can imagine endless nights sipping post-dinner pumpkin spice latte in this cozy dining room!

with this most lovely table centerpiece to enjoy throughout the season!

halloween party favor ideas

Friday, September 9, 2011

halloween is one of my favorite holiday celebrations. it's totally fun and it's that one time of the year that the kids get all crazy dressed up in their costumes and are allowed lots of sweet treats!

and with that note, i didn't waste time signing up to volunteer for our son's classroom halloween party and be in charge of the party favors. there are so many cute ideas out there and i'm rounding up some of my favorites!

just a quick note to continue to pray for rain and for the safety of those affected by the texas wildfire.

today's party feature is so adorable i can't help wishing i had a daughter! ha!

the lovely photos are from a first birthday party for isabella. photography is by the amazingly talented pam rodrigues (site/facebook)who you may remember took photos of this gorgeous bridal shower featured here in the blog before. the party details are so sweet with the divine color palette of pink and yellow. the dessert table is filled with delicious bites and desserts all in sunny yellow and pretty pink. the cake is smashing and who can miss the floral-patterned umbrellas over the venue's chandeliers? so unique and special - i've never seen that before. it sure added an unforgettable impact!

of course, the celebrant is perfectly clad in pink tutus with pink and yellow flower headband - too cute!!
