happy monday to all! glad you all can stop by today! 

i have recently tuned in to nbc's american dream builders show hosted by nate berkus.  are you just as hooked as i am? last night's episode's task for the designers were to decorate and furnish identical trailer homes. with a small space to work with, the designers were up for the challenge. here are my favorite spaces : 

erinn and lukas team (my favorite duo). 

their designed house featured a daybed area but unfortunately it didn't make the photo gallery in the nbc site. you can slightly see it on this first photo directly behind the breakfast table. my other favorite? the open shelvings in the kitchen. it made the space more open and bright.

their designed home was my least favorite but i do love this study area. 

the winning team's home will be featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine. i won't share who won or who got kicked off the show in case you missed it. the show airs every sunday on nbc.

if walls could speak

these walls are not for the meek. or the faint of heart. 

bold, bright and striking. it depicts a sense of adventure. a brave spirit. 

i would never thought of a statement wall even for just an accent wall in our home. but i will be the first to admit, never say never. i am loving it and i dare say maybe one day.

a bathroom revamp

spring will be rolling around soon and i know most of you start spring cleaning or take on new home projects. early last year, we had a shower redo after a major plumbing leak that ended up into a costly renovation that took forever to complete. if i've known of decor planet then, we would have saved $$ and time.

big boy room revamp

TGIF! so glad friday is here! 

aston  will be turning 7 this year and his room is way overdue for a big boy revamp. this weekend we will be shopping around for his latest room update. currently in his room, he has a dark stained dresser and bed with a leather headboard. to add some colorful accessories to his neutral room, i'm thinking of adding a navy bookcase, a playful light fixture, oversized bean bag and a fun striped tent. he will really enjoy reading and playing inside that tent (i know i would)! 

i'm also planning to repaint the white walls and add the ever popular navy

 stripes that will complement the red and white panels i included in this board. the new design plans will hopefully get him excited and spend more time in there instead of our bedroom!

every beginning of the year, i have loads of desire to organize, minimize and downsize things in my life. be it my closet, my dresser, my desk or even the contents of my purse. maybe it's because i need to regroup after the festive colorful holidays that just passed and a new fresh clean beginning is what i need to jumpstart the new year!
