if you are in the houston area, are you as sick of this endless rain as i am? let's just pretend it's nice and sunny outside. if you can't pretend like me, let's just dress the part before we get out of the house then.
oh my, it's been raining here all weekend and we are expecting more rain this upcoming week. it is spring alright. our garden loves all the water and attention but i can't help but feel all gloomy that comes along with this kind of weather.
i will try my best to stay dry all week. thanks to an old trusted anorak i've had for years. i love wearing it with leggings, shorts, jeans and even skirts. it's super lightweight and a great layering piece for when traveling. here are a few more rain jackets for the season :

the early texas spring break are just weeks away and
i'm dreaming warm weather, colorful patterns and beautiful prints. what are your plans for spring break?
admiration and bordering to obsession is how i feel with mats meyer's creative fashion illustrations. i follow this incredibly talented artist for awhile now in instagram and i think it's time i share her beautiful artwork.
somehow i ended up at forever 21 at the mall and i stumbled upon a boat load of cute stuff. i am not a big fan of their clothes but i can certainly handle their accessories and little knick knacks with inexpensive prices. i obviously don't need them but they're just too cute.
last night sealed for me the need to cut my hair to a shorter bob. late last year i did cut my hair to a longer bob but i think i'd like to cut it shorter this time. seeing the wavy tousled hair of these ladies last night, you would want to grab that curling iron (and a little bit of product) and do an easy textured hairstyle just like theirs.
this freezing weather here lately is making me yearn for easy breezy blouses perfect to wear on an island.
if you have plans to visit the beach anytime soon, you need these gorgeous lace blouses to wear for a night out by the bay. i love how girly and flirty they are.
above is very pricey but below is an inexpensive version and i think much cuter (with pineapples!).
we never have real "winter" here in texas but this week we had a dose of under 40 degree weather and it was brrrrr cold for our standards. not sure how long this will last but we try to dress accordingly to it.
i'd love to own a bright-colored coat like this or this that will surely liven up dark dreary days during the winter months. pretty to throw over basic jeans and a tee (love this too with it's gold handwriting print), a simple pair of booties, chunkygold rings and the must-have bucket bag to finish off the look.
it never fails. i love a really clean, crisp fresh look for the new year. before spring arrives, i love a really good winter white wardrobe overhaul. i think it's because of the unapologetic overdose of glitter and sparkle from the holidays that makes me yearn for a clean slate. winter white is now here to stay.
