tory burch's recent NYFW spring 2013 collection sashayed down the runway with evident global influences in tribal organic prints and textures, elegant silk flora prints and tie-dyed charm. tory's line season after season has never been boring. she always presents a fresh bright collection with an eclectic mix of patterns, colors and fabrics. view the whole collection here.

i know it's a little weird talking about spring fashion here as we are just hitting the first drop of fall temperatures. surely i can't help but share my favorite looks from the latest j.crew spring fashion show in NY. no surprise that mixing of prints remain the big story in the whole collection. i spy loads of pale brocades, herringbone pattern, stripes, polkadots and mixed florals. what's not to like? view the complete NYFW looks here.

skinny cords parade

i was excited to find a pair of skinny cords that's inexpensive and relatively fit well (junior sizing) and the material feel is delicious. i love bright colors and i am especially thrilled that i can move on to fall dressing with them. special bonus that it's in a skinny fit and corduroy material. get your's here.

the must-have jacket

still dying that we are still at almost 100 deg everyday. despite the arrival of the starbucks fall specialty flavors, our weather is not letting up. i am looking forward to dressing up in layers but with temps so high and with the sweltering heat, it ain't happening soon. so for now, all these cool images are just reminders of how chic a lady wears a military-inspired jacket balancing it's structured shape by adding feminine touches. wear with soft hair curls, a ladylike handbag or figure-hugging dresses, they are the perfect lightweight cover-up for fall!

breaking the rules

rules are meant to be broken. so as we approach fall, i am having second thoughts about putting away my white jeans to usher in the fall season this year. while bending the rules a bit, my fashion rebel self gets a little creative and make white denim extend it's longevity by pairing it with neutrals such as camel, grey and black. it'll be the coolest transition look for fall and i think it's perfectly ok.

looks like the bright-colored pants are here to stay. i'm glad to hear that because i have acquired quite a collection of them this past spring and summer. although the fit may have switched out to the boyfriend or slouchy silhouette (in cords and khakis too), i'm sure the fashion police will forgive you for wearing your bright skinnies through the fall season. i surely will and i'm happy to have invested in them!

dream duo

i'm sure you all didn't miss this most recent collaboration, kate spade and garance dore that debuted a few days ago. a line of the most adorable accessories and ready-to-wear capturing the carefree spirit of the famous french photographer and lifestyle blogger, darance. brought to life via the colorful, kitschy modern preppy style of kate spade ~ it is a dream collaboration. CUTE ~ i want the iphone case and the classic trench!

search for the perfect blazer

 i'm in the quest for a fabulous blazer to wear for fall (if ever the cool weather decides to come our way). i have a couple of black blazers i have had for years but a new one in a lovely bright color would be a great addition. 

i think i may have found the ideal blazer with the perfect blend of structure and comfortable ease. this zara jogging blazer is made out of viscose and elastane fabric making them stretchy and soft. and if you take a look closely, it comes with the cutest pinstripe lining. and for $ 80, i think it's a reasonable price. i am so heading over there soon.

after brunch with the family last sunday, i couldn't help but stop by at a nearby j.crew store. i was curious to see what's up for fall, the j.crew way. seeing their most gorgeous styling of everything they carry online, i wanted to be able to feel and try their lovely goodies up close and personal. i saw lots of polkadots, ladylike sequins, bright colorblocking and the most stunning costume jewelry, of course.
